Log #9
In week ten, we continue solving the question of chapter three with Mr. Paul. After that, he showed us some example of presentation from the internet and some of it was perfect and some was rubbish and boring. In the following day, I don’t know what they take because I was absent and I forgot to ask my classmate about the classes.
Individual meeting report
In the 17th of March 2010, we had a meeting about changing the policy in the college from the semester system to credit system. We discus in this meeting five items and it was at 8:00 am in J33. No one of the group members missed the meeting.
The meeting started by our chairman Osama, he introduced the five items that we will discuss it in the meeting and we have had only 15 minutes to discuss this point. After that, Jaber started to explain the survey which was done by him. Then we go through the first which it was the time table. The entire group had agreement with time selection and course selection but we had different opinions for the flexibility and weekend lessons. We moved to the second items in our agenda which is courses. For the first point which is add and drop we had agreement with this point but all of us disagree with the second point which is availability. After that, the group discuss about the attendance. The entire group had different opinion for the missed classes and we had no problems with attendance count. The followed point was the English level unanimous ad we related this point to the survey result. Finally we moved to the summer courses and we totally agreed with this sub-points, which is running courses and early graduation.
In addition, we have got different opinions for the five items every one of us tried to explain and show us his opinion and convince us of his opinion. At the end of the meeting the chairman gave us a summary of the meeting and he wished to meet again in the future to discuss the points that we do not get the full agreement.

In week nine, our lesson was about travelling so Mr. Paul divides the class, every two students together. Each one should ask his classmate some question such as, do you like to travel, which the most country you like it, where you love to travel…etc. Then every stated to present his classmate and it was very funny and useful because Mr. Paul know that most of the class has a problems with the grammar. On the next day, Mr. Paul asked the class to start working on their meeting report and continue writing the minutes.

In week eight, Mr. Paul started to listen to the two remaining groups and after they finish he said some comments. After he finished from all groups, he showed the class some example of the minutes and he explained it. He asked the groups to start work on their minutes. On Thursday, we began in the chapter three of the book. He discusses with us about different topics and he listen to our opinions and it was an interesting class.

In week seven, Mr. Paul wants to see the meeting of any group but no one of the group was ready so he choose randomly Ali’s group. Their topic was about Parking in the ADMC. They were very nervous at the beginning of the meeting but their meeting was good. After they finish, Mr. Paul gave Ali’s group some advises and he showed them the mistakes to fix it because these meeting was a practice only. In the following day, Mr. Paul tries to finish chapter two at the first 15 minutes. After that, he started to listen to rest of the group but there was no time for all groups. He said his comment for the groups about their meetings.

In week six, at the beginning Mr. Paul showed us some video about meeting and how to do it in perfect way and not to be serious and more formal than necessary. Some of the video was funny and some was serious and boring. After that, Mr. Paul showed us some of the agenda from the groups that sent it to him and showed us some of the mistakes. My group and I did not finish the agenda yet at that time so we have learned from these mistakes. In the next day, we have begun to resolve some of the questions in the book with Mr. Paul to finish the second chapter. Finally, Mr. Paul showed us some of the steps how to do a meeting and it can be good, interesting, comprehensive and not boring.

In week five, I was absent on Wednesday and I didn't know what did they took but my friend said to me that Mr. Paul sat in the back of the class and he hear some presentation from the students about mottos. Then Mr. Paul explained to us how to do the meeting and what we need to do the meeting in perfect way. Also Mr. Paul asked us to do a survey to help us in the meeting. On Thursday, Mr. Paul came with Mr. Roger (The supervisor) to write observations about the students and the teacher. During the class, Mr. Paul gave each student a survey papers and we have made a survey between us. At the end of the class, Mr. Paul asked us to do the agenda for the meeting and give him the names of each group that consist of 4 or 5 students.

In the fourth week, Mr. Paul wanted to start in the second section, which is about introducing the classmate so he wanted to finish the section about mottos. On Wednesday, we started to resolve questions in the book and then Mr. Paul began running some of the recordings from the CD about mottos that have changed lives of some people while us hearing and solving the answers in the book. The next day (Thursday), we did not take any classes because Mr. Paul didn’t show up.

In the third week, we have got only two periods of the four periods and that was because Mr. Paul was busy on Thursday. On Wednesday we started taking the first lesson in the book, which was about mottos and each one of us told us about motto that he like it and why he choose this motto.

In the first two weeks after returns from the winter holiday we met new teacher who will teach us new courses. This course is called n101 and our teacher is Mr. Paul. In the following I will talk about what we did in the first two weeks.
First of all, Mr. Paul introduces himself and he meets us. After that, He told us about the course and asks us about the last semester. Then he gave us an interesting book which we will study it in the first month. It was interesting and funny weeks and I think this course with Mr. Paul will be amazing.
